AWARD-WINNING ACTOR AND AUTHOR TONY DANZA TO SPEAK AT FISHER COLLEGE

Fisher College is pleased to announce that award-winning actor and author, Tony Danza will be a guest speaker on Thursday, October 18rd at 12:30pm in the Alumni Hall at Fisher College, 118 Beacon Street, Boston.

Danza will discuss his latest book, I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had: My Year as a Rookie Teacher at Northeast High (Crown Archetype, September 11, 2012) and how spending a year as a high school teacher impacted his life and what it’s really like today in America’s classrooms. A surprisingly poignant account, I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had reveals the daunting struggles so many teachers face as they play out a myriad of roles in their students’ lives, alternately functioning as parent, counselor, friend, and social worker. Danza will be available to sign copies of his book following the event.

This event is open to the public on a first come first serve basis as space is limited. Please vist http://tonydanza.eventbrite.com/ for availability and to register for the event.

“We are thrilled to have Mr. Danza speak at Fisher College,” states Dr. Thomas M. McGovern, President of Fisher College. “Here at Fisher, we are dedicated to our students and professors, and this book really explores the impact of that relationship. Like Danza, Fisher believes that it is important for students to take responsibility for their own education, and this message is one that will resonate.”
