Ruth N. Bramson, CEO, Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, Awarded 2012 Athena Award
Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is proud to announce that its CEO, Ruth N. Bramson, has been awarded the 2012 Athena Award by the Metro South Chamber of Commerce. Bramson will accept the award at a breakfast ceremony on Thursday, June 14, at the Shaw’s Center in Brockton.
Each year the Chamber presents the Athena International Award to an exceptional individual who has achieved excellence in his or her business or profession, has served the community in a meaningful way, and has assisted women in reaching their full leadership potential. This is the 14th consecutive year in which the award has been presented.
Throughout her career, Bramson has been committed to advancing leadership opportunities for women, from the corporate sector, to the State House, to the non-profit community. As the Chief Executive Officer of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts since 2008 when three councils merged, Bramson has served as the leading voice for girls in Massachusetts. In her tenure as CEO, she has tackled issues such as strategic change, corporate philanthropy, STEM education for girls, inclusion, sexual harassment and violence prevention.
“Girl Scouts is committed to building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place, and I’m honored to be recognized for an award that celebrates women leaders who inspires other women to achieve their full potential,” Bramson said.
