A Downtown Store Closes After 75 Years in Business: After 75 years in business, sewing and knitting store Windsor Button Shop, at 35 Temple Place, has lost their lease and is closing.

Back Bay Hotel Now Officially a Loews Property: The building was built in the 1920s to be the headquarters for the Boston Police Department. The police left in the late 1990s; the building was later renovated and turned into a hotel in 2004. 

'Boston's Finest' Premieres Wednesday: The unscripted show, which is executive produced by Donnie Wahlberg, follows the men and women of the Boston Police Department, promising "an up-close and very personal look at what it takes to protect and serve one of America's greatest and most distinctive cities," according to the show's website.

Boston Man Charged with Shoplifting, Heroin Possession: Officers spoke with two store Lord & Taylor employees, who reportedly witnessed the suspect taking bottles of cologne and perfume and placing them in his pockets.

MBTA Not Considering Late Night Service: Due to the strain on resources, the MBTA has no plans as of now to extend service hours despite massive local interest.

Parks Department OKs Off-Leash Dog Areas on Boston Common: The plan, put forth by the the Friends of the Public Garden and Common Canine, calls for the unfenced off-leash areas to be rotated, with dog owners and the Friends to reseed each area after rotation.

Man Charged with Trespassing, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: When the clerk at 7-Eleven confronted the suspect, the suspect then reportedly threatened the clerk, stating, “Come outside. I’ll beat you.” 

Lynch, Markey Hit the Road, Republicans Get Started: With only days to go before nomination papers are due in the race for U.S. Senate, last week was a busy one for announced and potential candidates looking to fill the seat left vacant by John Kerry’s appointment to Secretary of State.

Chris Christie Coming to the Back Bay on Friday: Former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown and other big-name Republicans hosted a fundraiser for the possible 2016 GOP presidential hopeful.
