Newbury Water Main Project Update

The following is a press release on behalf of the Boston Water and Sewer Commission:

Beginning in the month of March, the contractor will permanently restore the sidewalks in the Gloucester Street to Fairfield Street block. Preparations will also begin in March to connect individual buildings in the Fairfield Street to Exeter Street block to the temporary water supply bypass system. Details are included in the attached project update. Any water supply connection work, including building access, will be coordinated with individual affected buildings.

Main line water main replacement will begin after the Patriots’ Day holiday.

The schedule for all work is dependent on weather conditions and City permits.

We will send updates as new information becomes available. Additionally, a liaison will visit businesses to discuss and coordinate the work and collect contact information for the email advisory list.
