2. City Council meets today. The assembly’s agenda includes a measure that would raise cemetery fees. The group will also meet a bit earlier than usual today—at 11:30 a.m. instead of noon.
3. The city recently established a Nightclub Enforcement Unit, which may "conduct quarterly, random, unannounced inspections on any given licensed premises ... on multiple premises in different areas on a given night." The Nightclub Enforcement Unit will be looking at all popular late night entertainment venues, not just those designated by statute as nightclubs.
4. Reebok CrossFit a new gym at 31 St. James Street will open Jan. 1 - just in time for New Year resolutions. The program uses natural movements to promote overall strength and health, and the 3,500 square feet facility will feature lockers, showers, towel service, food and beverages, nutritional counseling, a retail store and more. From now through the end of December, you can sign up for a free trial.
