Hollywood Tours Come to Back Bay

Take a tour of where movies have been shot around the city.

Beverly Hills may have Rodeo Drive, but Back Bay has its own Hollywood tourist draw with bus and walking tours that take visitors around the city, stopping at locations where movies like Fever Pitch and Boondock Saints were filmed.

On Location Tours, the Beantown excursion, which launched in May, includes either a three hour tour with more than 40 stops, or an hour and 1/2 Boston Movie Mile with 25 locations. Sure, it's geared toward visitors, but locals will learn a few things too.

The John Hancock Tower, Trinity Church, Copley Square and Copley Plaza Hotel have been used in filming for Disney's Suite Life of Zach and Cody, The Box, My Best Friend's Girl, Fever Pitch, The Women and Blown Away.

The tour covers the rest of the city too, winding through Beacon Hill, the Boston Common, South Boston, and the North and West Ends. Fans will visit the Zakim Bridge that appears in The Departed; the Statehouse seen in The Verdict; the law firm featured in Civil Action; the Boston Public Gardens spotted in Alex and Emma; the pub made famous by Cheers; the L Street Tavern featured in Good Will Hunting; the flower shop used in The Town, and more.
