SARAH JAROSZ
Where/When: Cafe 939, Friday, 8 p.m.
Why Go: Bluegrass with an extra dash of sugar (and a little spice). Grammy-nominated singer Sarah Jarosz gives a sneak peak of her second album, Follow Me Down. Purchase tickets here.
Pricing: $12
HUB CRAWL
Where/When: Starts in Copley Square, Saturday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Why Go: Now don’t go getting all excited. Just because they’re calling this a “crawl” doesn’t mean there’s alcohol involved. A more accurate title would probably be “Fun Boston Photo Scavenger Hunt and Sometimes There are Puzzles.” (See why they went with crawl?) More info available here. Email hubcrawl@gruntwerk.com to register.
Pricing: $40 for a team of 4
CORNHOLE FOR CANCER SURVIVORS
Where/When: Ned Devine’s, Saturday, 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Why Go: Where we come from, cornhole means something a little different, but we’re guessing all you native East Coasters thought of bean bags right away. All proceeds from the cornhole tournament and silent auction benefit The SAMFund for Young Adult Survivors of Cancer. Tickets available here.
Pricing: $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
MAKE YOUR OWN SUSHI NIGHT
Where/When: Fisher College, Trustees Reading Room, Saturday, 6 p.m.
Why Go: Normally we’d much prefer that an expert do our sushi-rolling, but Boston Rotaract is donating all proceeds from the event to Shelter Box and the Japan relief effort and that’s something we’ll gladly roll up our sleeves for. Purchase tickets here.
Pricing: $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
THE 24 BOWL
Where/When: Kings Back Bay, Sunday, 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Why Go: Nothin’ like a good old-fashioned bowling tournament, especially when it’s for a good cause. This is the second annual bowl-a-thon for the Travis Roy Foundation, a group dedicated to enhancing the life of spinal cord injury survivors and their families. Registration info available here or make a donation here.
Pricing: $25 per person
