A 1-5 start by the Red Sox has put a quick damper on the optimism of sunny Fort Myers spring training.
But even managing just one win before opening day at Fenway is an improvement on last year. And, in case you don't have a good memory or decided to repress the last month of last season, the 2011 Red Sox didn't finish so well, either.
Fenway Park is celebrating its 100th anniversary this season. The team that played the inaugural season at Fenway? They won 105 games and beat the Giants in the World Series. But as Rick Pitino might say, Smokey Joe Wood isn't walking through that door.
The Red Sox have changed their manager and management. They've shuffled around some pitchers, added some outfielders and changed their shortstop. But does it feel any different from last season?
