Opinion: Halloween Costume Ideas from iParty

Tabloids continue to rule on the costume front.

Thanks to the antics of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the sexting of Rep. Anthony Weiner and the shenanigans of Charlie Sheen, Halloween 2011 will continue the growing trend in costumes as they relate to scandalous current events, according to iParty, with a store on Boylston Street.

“No question, the tabloids had a field day this year,” said iParty CEO Sal Perisano. “And we have seen more and more over the years that our costume trends often mirror current events."

Casey Anthony is another one that will be popping up, along with Housewives and Hoarders on the reality T.V. front. iParty is fully stocked in Schwarzenegger-style muscle shirts, Lady Gaga-style costumes - including her recent male alter-ego look at the MTV VMAs - and the Snooki wig.

And let's not forget about the kids.

“Thankfully, young people can still be princesses, firemen, ladybugs and bumblebees,” Perisano said. “We need to balance all those Jersey Shore costumes with some good old Walt Disney!”
