Police: Cape Cod Man Brings Gun to Whiskey's

Two men were arrested after swinging at a police officer and refusing to leave.

A Cape Cod man allegedly brought a gun into Whiskey's Bar and yelled expletives when an officer asked him to leave.

Ryan Powderly, 22, of Sandwich, MA, was arrested Saturday night at 12:15 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault & battery on a police officer, and carrying a loaded firearm while intoxicated.

Alex Corbett, 23, of Boston was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault & battery on a police officer.

An officer on detail at the 885 Boylston St. bar denied the two entry for signs of being intoxicated, and both suspects "began to verbally disrespect and disparge the officer" according to Boston Police.

"Upon being told to move, one of the suspects screamed, 'We can stand here. (Expletive) you. We know our rights.'" according to the report.  "The second suspect yelled, 'Do you know who you’re (expletive) with?' At one point, one of the suspects asked the officer if he had enough bullets in his gun."

When the officer tried to place them under arrest they began swining at the officers head, and were eventually subdued with help from staff at Whiskey's.

After searching Powderly, the officer recovered a loaded gun.

The officer was treated at the scene for injuries suffered during the altercation.
