Public Garden Lagoon Renovations to Start Next Week

The first phase of the project will shore up the north edge of the lagoon.

The first phase in a five-year project to stabilize the edge of the Boston Public Garden Lagoon begins next week with a renovation of the a third of north shore.

This phase, budgeted at $165,700, will address leakage issues that result in puddling on the lawn areas around the lagoon.

The work will be on the north side of the pond is the portion where the island is located and will stabilize the edge, which is comprised of granite coping on a concrete sill, turf, soil, gravel and a clay liner.
