Video: Students Sing it Up at Berklee High School Jazz Festival

The event drew more than 3,000 students to the Hynes Convention Center on Saturday.

More than 3,000 students, 200 big bands, combos and vocal ensembles came together Saturday night for one of the largest music events of the year -- The Berklee High School Jazz Festival.

The high schoolers competed for $175,000 in scholarships to Berklee's five-week Summer Performance Program.

An important aspect of this year's event was a $68,000 grant to develop BerkleeJazz.org, an interactive online community for high school jazz instructors and students.
