Which Road in Boston Most Needs Repaving?

Tell us which road you think needs the most work and see what your neighbors have to say.

As we get ready to head back to school and off summer vacation, we want to know which road in Boston rattles your car the most, forces you to tighten your seatbelt a little snugger or is one you just avoid all together.

Take a moment, and tell us in our comments section what you think is the worst road to drive in Boston.

Cyclists, we didn't forget you. We'll be back in a few days with your own space to talk about trouble spots when riding.

And if you have photos of what you believe to be the worst road in town, feel free to upload them by clicking "Upload Photos and Videos."

Drive safely!

I would have nominated the section just before you cross the Casey Overpass going south, but it was recently repaved (thank heaven).

Ukraine way was paved at the request of myself and others w the help of Rep Sanchez.
The worst stretches of roadway are the approach ramps to American Legion Highway off Morton Street. I have already asked DPW Commr Massaro to pave that. By letter in July Millions of dollars are spent rebuilding the Legion Hwy bridge and City forgets the on ramps? That's why people distrust government.

fp, I disagree: In 1776, the cows and horses probably kept Parley Ave. nice and smooth compared to its current condition. Of course, I am throwing stones from a glass house here on Yale Terrace.

The entrance ramp to 93 North in Somerville (near the Home Depot and Planet Fitness) could certainly use some help.

I was going to say the same thing SER. Even worse, at one time, you could get on 93 North in City Square in Charlestown, and now this horrible road is the closest on-ramp.

Jamaicaway Court, just above Pond Street. Though I think the residents prefer it that way.....

New Market Sq., the railroad tracks ,just before you pull out onto SouthHampton St., need to be removed from the roadway. It;s getting worse by the day.

I vote with Barbara! Clarendon is such a heavily used cross-town street and has been in deplorable condition for years.

South Street, between Forest Hills Station and Bussey. It's a dire hazard for cyclists in an already too-narrow lane, who have to move 4 feet out from the edge of the road to avoid pits, potholes and lumps of broken pavement. There is also a large pothole about 3 feet wide and 5 feet long near the far entrance to the State Lab, it's been there since last winter. The sidewalks are also broken and in disrepair. I lived over there for 2-1/2 years and had to walk in the street with speeding cars brushing by, due to impassible sidewalks between Ascitou Road and the Bussey Hill footgate entrance to the Arboretum.

I meant the pothole has been there since the PREVIOUS winter. They patched it early in 2011 but the snow, ice and rain eroded it by May 2011.

Dorchester Avenue is by far the worst. I counted 420 utility patches on a mile long strip from Peabody Square to Fields Corner riding my bike there yesterday. This AFTER the 10 intersection solution was given too us instead of the complete entire length redesign that had been in the planning stages for years. Thanks Stimulus for getting Dot the short end of the service stick...AGAIN!

Casey Overpass JP 203. While it is scheduled to be torn down in the future, atthe present moment there are major holes and bumps (particularly on the Eastbound side)which make travelling on it dangerous and like a maze to avoid the holes
