Lollapalooza is teaming up with Berklee College of Music to help broke college students get through school. The Berklee Lollapalooza Endowed Scholarship is awarded each year to one exceptionally talented musician from the U.S. who has expressed the need for financial aid. Not only does the scholarship offer full tuition, but it also renews itself every year for four years of study.
Students who are accepted to Berklee are considered for scholarships based on their live audition and interview. Candidates who qualify based on their merit and talent are nominated, and the final selection of the scholar is announced in April each year.
It’s very cool that Berklee is starting to work with large festivals like Lollapalooza to help students become what they want to be by creating new scholarship opportunities. Paying for college has become increasingly difficult and often limits people from pursuing an education. This scholarship is just one example of how Berklee is partnering with outside organizations to help musicians achieve their dreams.
