The time that is awaited all winter long is here—the opening of the Copley Square Farmers Market on Tuesday, May 15. Approximately 20 vendors will be on hand on opening day offering local and seasonal fruits and vegetables, baked goods, jams & jellies, cheese, meats, and much more. There will be local produce from Atlas Farms, Siena Farms, Silverbrook Farm, and others; baked goods from Danish Pastry House and Sofra; roasted nuts from Fastachi; fresh mozzarella from Fiore Di Nonno; and primo sandwiches from Iggy’s Bread. The hours of the market are 11:00am – 6:00pm every Tuesday and Friday.
Mass Farmers Markets is the only non-profit organization providing support for all farmers markets across Massachusetts. In addition to managing the Copley Square, Central Square (Cambridge), and Davis Square (Somerville) markets, Mass Farmers Markets provides management and marketing resources to 250+ farmers markets around the state, and acts as fiscal agent for all SNAP and Bounty Bucks payments, doing its part to expand the access of local food to all populations. The public plaza in the heart of Back Bay is a popular meeting place located right off of the T. People are often seen enjoying a sunny day sitting on the grass or walking to the many upscale shops, restaurants and city landmarks nearby, including Newbury Street, the Prudential Center, John Hancock Tower and Copley Place Mall.
Copley Square is a central location for a variety of events, like a farmers market every Tuesday and Friday from mid-May to the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. It's also adjacent to the Boston Marathon finish line.
Copley is a green line stop on the T, with a bus stop on the southern side of the square, facing the Copley Square Hotel, for the 9, 39, 55, 503 and 502 buses.
