DESCRIPTION:In Fabrics of Meaning\, the artist explores the fluid nature
of identity with a series of works made from paper created with fabric
gathered from family members. This exhibit represents the fibers of Ma
rian&rsquo\;s family\; how they transcend physical space\, and the defin
ition of place. The use of physical location acted as a &ldquo\;jumping
off point&rdquo\; with which to articulate this diverse and expansive
family.\nMarian was born in Rochester NY\, where she resided until 2004.
She moved to Colorado to finish high school\, and then attended Colora
do College\, in Colorado Springs. Marian is a current graduate candidat
e\, Ed.M. at Harvard&rsquo\;s Graduate School of Education in the Arts
in Education program. She seeks to address how the arts can both suppor
t and build inclusive learning communities with a universal design for
learning.\nThe event begins June 18th and will run through August 31st.\
nThe Opening Reception will be held June 19th from 4-7pm\, featuring Ed
ward Clapp\, editor of 20UNDER40: Re-Inventing the Arts and Arts Educat
 ion for the 21sr Century.
