Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival Presents Gary Burton at Sculler’s

Grammy Award-winning vibraphone player Gary Burton is back for Berklee’s BeanTown Jazz Festival! The festival, Boston’s biggest Block party, takes place on Saturday, September 28th. There will be three stages of live music, arts, crafts, a family park in addition to an instrument petting zoo.

The vibes master has received a whopping total of 15 Grammy nominations. The most recent Grammy Award he won was for the best improvised jazz solo in 2012.

Burton is no stranger at Berklee. In fact, he studied at Berklee for two years, after which he started working with George Shearing and Stan Getz. He also worked at Berklee as a teacher and administrator for over 30 years. Currently, Burton is touring Europe and the United States. He recently released his second CD, Guided Tour, on Mack Avenue Records with The New Gary Burton Quartet. The quartet also includes Berklee alumni, guitarist Julian Lage and drummer Antonio Sanchez, and bassist Scott Colley.
