BOSTON CITY COUNCILOR CANDIDATE JACK KELLY JOINS JOE AVELLONE'S CAMPAIGN FOR GOVERNOR

Jack Kelly, Charlestown native and 2013 Boston At-Large City Councilor candidate, has joined Joe Avellone’s Campaign for Governor as a Senior Advisor. 

Kelly was the Charlestown Neighborhood Coordinator for Mayor Tom Menino before working at Massachusetts General Hospital to develop programs to reduce the rates of Hepatitis C, HIV, and sexually transmitted infections among at-risk populations. 

Avellone said, "I'm thrilled Jack Kelly is joining our team. Jack is a veteran political operative who ran an excellent race for City Council in Boston this year. He served as a top political operative for Mayor Menino and nobody understands urban issues better than Jack.  I met Jack over the summer during his campaign and I was impressed about how open he was about his past substance abuse problems. Jack is a great inspiration to everyone that second chances do happen and when you do get the opportunity to make the most of it.  I have enormous respect for Jack and believe he will be an invaluable part of our team."

Joe Avellone is a Democrat running for Governor of Massachusetts. Joe has served in various management leadership roles throughout his distinguished private and public sector career, including surgeon, entrepreneur, health care executive, Selectman and Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
