HOMESTART ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF ADVISORY BOARD AND ADDS TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS

HomeStart announced today the formation of its new Advisory Board, as well as two new board members—Fendy Alexis of Boston and Shankar Krishnamony of Franklin.

“2013 has been a great year for HomeStart,” said Linda Wood-Boyle, President and CEO of HomeStart.  “With the help of our wonderful supporters, we’ve been able to exceed fund raising goals, place more families in housing, and get closer than ever to ending homelessness in Boston for good.  I am confident that with the help of our new Advisory Board and board members we will continue this year’s progress well into the future.”

The new nine-member Advisory Board brings various areas of expertise to assist the organization in their mission to end homelessness in the Greater Boston area.  Additionally, HomeStart welcomes Fendy Alexis and Shankar Krishnamony to its Board of Directors. Each of these individuals has shown a tremendous commitment to helping those in need and ending homelessness.  Alexis, a personal trainer and motivational speaker, shares a deep and personal connection with many of HomeStart’s clients routinely assisting those who are transitioning from shelters into permanent housing.

Krishnamony is Vice President of Capital Markets at Wipro Technologies and has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. He has worked with HomeStart for many years and plans to utilize his mentoring skills and business acumen to benefit HomeStart clients and the Board of Directors.

“HomeStart is fortunate to have such a high caliber of individuals come together to assist in advancing our overall mission and goals which are to not only prevent, but end homelessness in the Greater Boston area,” said Wood-Boyle.
