A Movie About the Boston Marathon Bombings?

'The Fighter' screenwriters secure feature rights for an upcoming book about the Boston Marathon bombings. What do you think?

By Chris Caesar

Less than three months after the Boston Marathon bombing, a pair of Hollywood screenwriters have secured the feature rights to adapt the story for film.

Is it too soon?

Deadline reports that Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy, best known for writing "The Fighter,"  will base their screenplay on "Boston Strong," a forthcoming book by Casey Sherman and Boston Herald reporter Dave Wedge.

In it, the authors will explore both the city's reaction to the bombing and its widely televised aftermath.

While the film would take years to produce and release, it got us thinking: is it too early for a Boston Marathon movie, or worth making while those events remain fresh in our minds?
