Friends of the Public Garden Member Reception Oct. 16

National parks leader Tupper Thomas to speak at the reception.

The Friends of the Public Garden are hosting a member reception at the Union Club, 8 Park St., on Wednesday, Oct. 16 starting at 6:30 p.m. with a speaker program followed by the reception.

According to a release from FOPG's Mary Halpin, Tupper Thomas, a national parks leader with 30 years of experience as administrator of Prospect Park in Brooklyn, will be the featured speaker.

Thomas will "speak about the critical role citizens can play to ensure the revitalization." She also was a founding member of City Parks Alliance.

Members are asked to RSVP by Friday, Oct. 11 for the reception at info@friendsofthepublicgarden.org or call 617-723-8144. It's free for members, and non-members can become members at the Friends website or at the event.
