Hubway Closes in on 1 Million Rides

The popular Boston bicycle share system has been active since July 2011.

With the reach of Boston's bicycle share system growing this year, Hubway is on track to soon cross the 1 million ride threshold.

A July 3 tweet from @Hubway: "Less than 43k trips until your 1 millionth Hubway ride!..." 

Hubway opened to Boston July 20, 2011. The service recorded 675,000 in its first two active years - the service shuts down between December and March or April depending on weather.

According to their map, Hubway has stations in and around Back Bay at: Boylston Street at Arlington Street, Boylston Street at Berkeley Street, the Boston Public Library, Boylston Street at Fairfield Street, Newbury Street at Hereford Street, Back Bay/South End Station, Prudential Center/Belvidere, Beacon Street at Mass Ave. and Boylston Street at Mass Ave.
