Boylston Street Reopens after Bomb Squad Clears Suspicious Package

The Boston Police Bomb Squad were called to the area of Forum at 755 Boylston St. Wednesday afternoon for a reported suspicious package, which led to the closure of the busy Back Bay street during the investigation. The package reportedly turned out to be an empty FedEx box.


Police: Man Struck Woman with a Brick on Mass. Ave.

Boston Police responded to a report of an assault and battery in progress on Massachusetts Avenue near Clearway Street at about 12:23 p.m. Wednesday. 

Officers arrived on scene and found the victim bleeding profusely from the head. When asked what happened, the victim pointed to a man and said, “he threw a brick at me and it hit me in the head.” Officers charged Jerome Spencer of 30 Hemenway Street with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. 


Christian Science Plaza Redevelopment Meeting Aug. 22

A public meeting regarding the major redevelopment project at the Christian Science Plaza in Back Bay will be held by the Boston Redevelopment Authority Thursday, Aug. 22.

The project is proposed to include the construction of two buildings on Belvidere and Dalton Streets totaling approximately 950,000 square feet.
