What Are Those Globes Along Copley Square?
We've got the answer for you in the latest edition of "You Ask, Patch Answers."
Since Monday morning you may have noticed a number of globes placed along Copley Square, as well as along Tremont Street near the Park Street MBTA Station on Boston Common.
We took the above video Tuesday and saw many folks stopping to check them out. Each has a placard at their base with a short description.
So what are these globes? You ask, Patch answers!
The globes are part of a project between Boston Mayor Thomas Menino's Greenovate Boston initiative and Cool Globes.
According to their website, Cool Globes is "a public art exhibition designed to raise awareness of solutions to climate change." It was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2006 and since then has had public displays across the country and the world.
Cool Globes' Twitter account said they will be holding an opening for the exhibit along Boston Common Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Brewer Fountain Plaza with Menino.
