By David Ertischek The Boston Public Schools back-to-school hotline is up and running and ready for your call. Operators have fielded hundreds of calls since launching last week. Multi-lingual operators are trained and ready to answer a wide variety of questions from parents and students. The Boston Public Schools back-to-school hotline is 617-635-9046.
“We are making an intentional effort to ensure we are a more customer-friendly organization,” said interim Superintendent John McDonough. “As the first day of school quickly approaches we know our families have many questions. We hope they will take advantage of the well-trained and knowledgeable staff who are ready to answer their calls.”
The hotline is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beginning the first day of school (Wed., Sept. 4) the hotline will expand operating hours to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The hotline will remain operational through September 13.
The first day of school for students in grades 1 through 12 is Wed., Sept. 4. Kindergartners begin school on Mon., Sept. 9.
