BRA Gives Nod to Christian Science Plaza Project

The proposed 691-foot tower on the site will be the tallest residential building in Boston.

The Boston Redevelopment Authority has given approval for the proposed project to redevelop the Christian Science Plaza in Back Bay with two new buildings, including one that will be tallest residential building in Boston, according to the Boston Globe.

At the meeting Thursday night, the Globe reported there were no opinions expressed in opposition to the project that will bring a 58-story, 691-foot condominium and hotel building as well as a 25-story mixed residential and retail building to the corner of Belvidere and Dalton streets.

The two buildings will total over 950,000 square feet. Included in the project is the creation of 4,400 square feet of public open space at the intersection of Dalton and Saint Germain Street.

Project developers Carpenter & Company, Inc. and Pritzker Realty Group, LLC said in June they hoped to begin building in early 2014 with a construction timetable of 30 to 36 months.
