I Made Bread from Leftover Oatmeal! And you can, too!

Don't let your hot cereal go to waste, use leftover oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat to make tasty bread!

Someone posted on facebook a recipe for bread that incorporated their leftover cereal grains. I was intrigued by the idea, for it is quite often that I am throwing away the last portion of grits or oatmeal that has been left to get cold and hard. Ew. I hate to waste anything, especially food, but who wants to eat re-heated oatmeal or grits?

It has been a while since we made any hot cereal, opting for pancakes and cold cereals instead, but yesterday my hubby cooked up some steel-cut oats for breakfast. There was quite a bit left in the pot, but our bellies were full. I remembered the leftover grain bread recipe and decided to google it. I searched several pages of the interwebs before finding a recipe on a blog called "The Sisters Dish" that looked like it made sense. I adapted it slightly to my personal taste and what I had available in my pantry.
