Farmer's Winter Market & Bazaar

Question: What do Farmers Markets do when winter arrives with stinging winds and chilling temperatures? Answer: They go indoors where it's warm and cozy!

Even though my job as the Market Manager of the Clayton Farmer's Market has slowed way down with the closing of the regular market season, life on the farm still goes.  Produce is still harvested (yes, even in the winter), chickens still lay eggs, poultry and beef are processed and artisan foods are still hand-crafted. 

This is good news and now we have a winter home for our small farmers and food producers to provide the same high quality foods to their customers.  I'm pleased to announce the first Farmer's Winter Market & Bazaar presented by the Clayton Farmer's Market.  The Market will be held indoors at on  Saturday, December 3 from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity, not only to stay connected to the fine folks who participated in our regular Market, but to have access to farm fresh, locally sourced products year round.  (All right, I'll admit it. I also really like the hand-crafted chocolate--and other foods too!)

We are also fortunate to have great sponsors for the Clayton Farmer's Winter Market & Bazaar. Thank you to market master Deb Henderson, Straubs, City of Clayton and Center of Clayton for making the winter market possible. I saw lots of friends and families there who were thrilled to have access to fresh food and crafted products straight from the farmers and artisans. It's such a beautiful thing to do for our community!
