3. As “a relatively small city with world-beating attitude,” aarp.org ranked Boston as one of the 10 greatest cities to retire in. The universities, sports teams, and parks all add to the culture. Not to mention the senior-friendly services Mayor Menino mentions: 

"Later this month, we'll have our annual Senior Games with golf, tennis, bowling, bocce, basketball and more. Last year we had more than 800 participants, ranging from age 60 to a 101-year-old man who played in a tennis tournament. You have to admire that, although bocce has always been more my style."

4. It's not every day - but it is once a year - that a Hot Dog Safari just happens to be in the next neighborhood over. Phantom Gourmet is hosting the 23rd annual benefit for the Joey Fund and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on May 19 from 12pm – 4pm on Lansdown Street. The family friendly event ffeatures bouncy houses, giant inflatable slides, temporary tattoos and more. Savory bites include: Windy City Eats; Harrows Chicken Pies; Kowloon; Firefly’s; Dunkin’ Donuts; Kelley’s Square Pub; Kind Snacks; Pearl Meats; and, the Sausage Guy.
