Brighton Woman Charged with Shoplifting from Whole Foods

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate a conviction.

Officers were called to the Whole Foods at 15 Westland Avenue at 1:39 p.m. on Friday, February 1. Officers were radioed in to apprehend a shoplifter in custody of the loss prevention officers.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the loss prevention officers who stated that they had a suspect in custody after they observed the suspect placing multiple items into a purple and black bag.

The suspect then tried to exit the store, walking past all possible places to pay. Officers were given a receipt of the stolen goods, totaling at $276.39 worth of perishable goods and personal hygiene items.

Officers arrested Ekaterina Verbovskaia of 84 Clint Street, Brighton and charged her with larceny shoplifting, $200 or more.
