Hand Bell Concert in the Common

And more to know today, Dec. 14.

1. Bell concert in the Common: The Back Bay Ringers' will perform a free, one-hour hand bell concert today in the Boston Common from 5 to 6 p.m. The concert is one of four they are performing this holiday season, and is sponsored by The Friends of the Public Garden. See more dates here. 

2. Make-A-Wish Event at the Pru: Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island are hosting an all-day celebration the Prudential Center today to raise awareness and funds to grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions in 2013. The event, from 11 to 7 p.m. in the food court, features art activities (noon to 4 p.m.), special appearances and a live concert with Chad Hollister at 5 p.m.

3. Deck The House: You could win $100,000 for Boston Public Schools, and $500 for your utility bill, just by snapping a photo of your holiday decorations and uploading it here.

4. Wine Tasting - What makes a wine tasting extra special? You can find out at today's Extra Special Organic Wine Tasting at Formaggio Kitchen South End (268 Shawmut Ave.) Taste a lineup of some our finest organic and biodynamic wines for the holidays, some exclusive to Formaggio, including beautiful small production red and white Burgundies. The tasting is hosted by importer David Mitchell of Mise Wines. See here for more details. 

5. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a mostly sunny day with a high near 47 degrees.
