Husband Calls Annie Dookhan a 'Liar'

New details have emerged in the ongoing Hinton Drug Lab crisis.

While disgraced state lab chemist Annie Dookhan was in court Wednesday, The Boston Globe unearthed new details in the state drug lab saga including a plea by her husband to not trust her. 

Surren Dookhan, Annie Dookhan’s husband, sent a text message to George Papachristos, former Norfolk Count assistant district attorney and a noted friend of Annie Dookhan, calling her a liar, according to The Boston Globe.

According to the Globe: “This is Annie’s husband do not believe her, she’s a liar, she’s always lying,” Surren Dookhan texted to the prosecutor, according to an interview Papachristos gave to State Police on Oct. 3, 2012. “She is looking for sympathy and attention.”

The Globe also reports Annie Dookhan was caught removed 90 drug samples from a lab evidence safe in June 2011. She was allowed to have a key to that safe for six months following this incident.

Dookhan’s is accused of malfeasance while an employee of the Hinton drug lab in Jamaica Plain that has convoluted 34,000 criminal drug cases in Massachusetts. Over 200 of those convicted have been set free pending a hearing, and five in Suffolk County have been arrested on new charges.

Dookhan pleaded not guilty Dec. 19. 2012 to four counts of obstruction of justice, eight counts of tampering with evidence and one count of falsely pretending to hold a degree from a college or university in Suffolk Superior Court. She pleaded not guilty to charges against her in Middlesex and Norfolk counties today, according to the Boston Herald.
