Police: Malden Woman Charged with Pulling a Knife on a Couple

A Malden woman asked Boston Police Officers if there was a warrant out for her arrest at about 7 p.m. on July 10 near Copley Square. Officers confirmed that there was a warrant out of Boston Municipal Court for assault with a dangerous weapon from an incident that took place in March of 2012.

Boston Police Officers were on a routine patrol of the Copley Park area when they saw a fight break out in front of the CVS near Dartmouth Street at about 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.

Officers approached the two women and the man and broke up the fight. The man started shouting, “she has a knife!”

The woman denied having a knife. Officers saw something in the woman’s front pocket and asked again. The woman told officers that, “someone put that there.” Officers recovered an open six-inch-long knife.

The victim said that he did not know the suspect, and that she approached him and began shouting about him being a sex offender. He then told police that the suspect pulled out the knife to threaten him and his female companion.

Officers determined that the suspect was intoxicated and could not determine who put the knife in her pocket. Officers arrested Halimah Martin of 185 Main Street, Malden and charged her with assault with a dangerous weapon.
