Police: Norwood Man Charged with Breaking into a Car on Belvidere Street

A Norwood man was charged with breaking into  a car on Belvidere Street.

Boston Police responded to a report of a larceny in progress at about 1:50 a.m. on June 22 nea the corner of Belvidere Street and St. Cecelia Street.

While driving down Dalton Street, officers saw a man head into the parking lot at the corner of Belvidere and Dalton Street. The officer got out of the car and chased the suspect on foot down Clearway Street.

Officers briefly lost the suspect, but eventually found a man hiding under a car while searching the parking lot. Officers also found a black brief case near the suspect.

According to police, the suspect was found with a flashlight headband, white gloves and a plastic bag of rock-like substance in his sock. Officers also found a screwdriver near the entrance of the parking lot. Officers also found $801 in cash on the suspect.

Police spoke to the Securitas Security Guard at the Hilton Hotel, who said that the suspect got out of his car and walk towards a parked car with a headlamp on. He said that the suspect then broke into the front passenger side window and took a brief case out the car.

Officers arrested Jimmy Carrasquillo of 205 Old Derby Road, Norwood, MA and charged him with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, possession of burglarious tools, and possession of a Class B substance. According to police, while searching the suspect, officers found shards of glass in his shoe. Robert’s Towing towed the vehicle away.
