Quincy Man Charged with Shoplifting at Shaw's

The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Any charges mentioned do not indicate a conviction.

Boston Police responded to a report of a shoplifter at 53 Huntington Avenue at 4:35 p.m. on October 23.

The responding officer spoke to the loss prevention officer, who stated that they had observed the suspect via security cameras grab multiple items off of the shelves and place them in his backpack. The suspect then passed all points of purchase and exited the store onto Huntington Avenue.

The loss prevention officer stopped the suspect and escorted him back to the store without incident. Zi Quan Ruan of 73 Bicknell Street, Quincy was arrested and charged with larceny, shoplifting, of $250 or more. The value of all of the items was totaled at $443.24. Each of the items were returned to the store.
