A Rhode Island woman was charged with several counts of assault and battery on December 10.
Officers responded to a report of an assault and battery in progress at the Met Bar Back Bay at 279 Dartmouth Street at 6:11 p.m. on December 10.
A bartender served two women who appeared to be intoxicated, so the server took them back. The two women became irate, verbally and physically abusive to the staff, according to the police report. One of the women struck the waitstaff several times and yelled profanities. Both women left the bar, but returned later, claiming they had left a bag behind.
At this point, the two women became even more abusive. A manager and a server claimed that they were struck several times. The server claimed to have been slapped in the face and struck in the groin. The women left again, heading up Newbury Street towards Exeter Street. A man stated that he was with the two women and tried to contact them. When he could not, he told officers that he thought they were in Papa-Razzi.
When officers located the women inside Papa-Razzi, they asked the women to step outside so they could talk. The two women reportedly became irate and began yelling. When officers asked about what had happened at the Met Bar, both continued to scream and swear at the officers. The officers were able to get the women to leave the bar, where the profanity reportedly continued. Officers threatened the women with arrest, but this had little effect.
When an officer went to arrest one of the women, later identified as Kimberly Kris, she reportedly threw several punches, connecting with the officer a few times. After placing the suspect in handcuffs, officers called for a transport. While waiting, the suspect kicked two officers in the legs. Officers pinned the suspect against a fence. The suspect reportedly tried to spit on the officer, with no success.
Once the suspect was placed in the cruiser, the suspect kicked at the doors and rear windshield. According to the police report, the suspect kicked an officer in the chest once they arrived at the station and tried to remove her from the vehicle.
Officers arrested Kimberly Kris of 2 Cavalier Drive, East Grenich, R.I. and charged her with two counts of assault and battery, indecent assault and battery and three counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
