Police said a security guard watching video footage observed Steven Collymore, of 141 Broadway Ave. in Everett enter the store around 3:45 p.m., take the handbag, and attempt to leave without paying. However, he was stopped by security personnel, then arrested by Boston Police.

The store's security guard told the responding officers he believed this isn't the first time Collymore had stolen other items from the store, police said. Collymore had allegedly been seen in the store on August 31 where he is believed to have stolen a Pony Tab clutch worth $1850, and on September 4, when he allegedly lifted a Watersnake clutch valued at $2150, according to the report.
