What's Open, Closed on Thanksgiving in the Back Bay

Find out what's open and what's closed today.

Thanksgiving is observed on Thursday, November 22. Here's a handy list of what's open - and closed - during the holiday:

  • Retail stores: Closed.
  • Supermarkets, liquor stores: Closed. 
     
  • Convenience stores: Open at owner's discretion.  
  • Gyms: Closed or reduced hours. 
  • Bars and restaurants: Open at owner's discretion. 
  • Stock market: Closed.
  • Municipal, state, federal offices and banks: Closed.
  • Libraries and schools: Closed.
  • Post office: Closed.
  • MBTA: Subway, commuter rail and bus service will run on a Sunday  schedule. See here for the full schedule. 
  • Trash/Recycling: Not affected in the Back Bay.
  • Boston Parking Meters: Free.
