Winter Wear Drive to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

1. Winter Coast & Accessories Drive: Faneuil Hall Marketplace is hosting a Winter Coats & Accessories Drive to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters from Feb. 14- Feb. 24. Help adults and children in the area who are in need of warm outdoor clothing by bringing new and gently used coast, hats, gloves, mittens and scarves to any of the drop-off locations throughout the property.

2. A singer speaks: Tonight at the Copley Library British baritone Sir Thomas Allen discusses BLO’s new production of Così Fan Tutte and reads excerpts from his published memoir. Allen's book chronicles his time touring as an opera singer and offers insight into his creative process. The story of Sir Thomas’ early life as a boy in a small fishing village in northern England and his turn to a career as Britain’s premier baritone has been cited by playwright Lee Hall as the inspiration for his film Billy Elliot. The event, from 6 to 7 p.m., is free.
