Woman Charged with Stealing a Pair of Jeans

A Randolph woman was charged with stealing a pair of jeans on Newbury Street.

Boston Police responded to a report of a larceny in progress at 119 Newbury Street. Upon their arrival, officers spoke with a store employee who stated that two women entered the store and that one of them had put some clothes in a bag and left without paying.

The store employee provided a description of the suspect and the police set out to locate the two women, who had last been seen walking down Newbury Street towards Dartmouth Street.

Officers observed the two women at the corner of St. James Street and Dartmouth Street. The store employee responded to the scene and identified the suspect. Officers stopped the suspect and searched her bag. Inside the bag was a pair of True Religion Jeans, valued at $319. Officers arrested Regina Armstrong of 1820 Randolph, MA and charged her with larceny of over $250.

The second woman attempted to return three pairs of jeans with different sizes and no receipts. While it was suspected that these jeans were stolen, the second woman was released and the jeans were returned to the store.
