Boston Palestine Film Festival 2014 (Oct. 17-26)

The Boston Palestine Film Festival showcases the extraordinary narrative and culture of Palestinians through cinema and art.

The 8th Annual Boston Palestine Film Festival is just around the corner and will run from October 17-26, 2014 at the Museum of Fine Arts and other venues across the Boston area.

Opening Film: May in the Summer, a buoyant comic drama about the disorientation of diaspora (10/17/14, MFA 7p). Director Cherien Dabis in conversation. Featured films: Giraffada, an inspirational drama about tending a zoo under occupation (10/24/14, MFA 7p) and My Love Awaits Me by the Sea (10/23/14, MFA 7:30p), a lyrical biographical work about finding the way back to a lost homeland through poetry. Director Mais Darwazeh in conversation. Closing Film: Mars at Sunrise, an expressionistic experimental feature exploring the power of art to transcend a war waged on imagination (10/26/14, MFA 3p). Director Jessica Habie in conversation. Festival Opening party at the Charlesmark Hotel, Boston, 9:30p. Festival themes: Gaza, diaspora, the transformative power of art.
