Back Bay Pastor to be Honored by Nativity Preparatory School

Nativity Preparatory School is pleased to announce that it will be honoring Fr. John Unni and the parishioners of St. Cecilia Church in Back Bay at the 2013 Nativity Prep Spirit Service Award Dinner at Boston College High School.  Saint Ignatius Church in Chestnut Hill is also being honored.


Father Unni and his parishioners have been named the 2013 recipients of The Raymond J. Callahan, S.J. Service
Award.  This award is named in honor of Raymond
J. Callahan, S.J., and recognizes individuals who are committed to justice and the belief in the power of education to transform lives and change the
world.  The award is presented annually by Nativity Preparatory School in Jamaica Plain, MA. Fathers Unni and VerEcke  of Saint Ignatius will receive the award on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at the 16th Annual Nativity Spirit Service Award Dinner at Boston College High School, where the entire Nativity community will come together in celebration.  The event will begin at 6:00 pm with a
cocktail reception followed by dinner at 6:45pm.


Fr. John Unni has served as Pastor of St. Cecilia Parish in Boston for the past eight years.  Fr. John is a member of the Archdiocesan Presbyteral Council and serves on the Board of Directors at the Pine Street Inn.  Fr. John’s parish
ministry embraces a commitment to education and spiritual growth for everyone, especially those who are marginalized and impoverished in any way.  Fr. John, was introduced to Nativity Prep in the early 90s by friends of his who were Jesuit priests.
