MARGIE DILLENBURG TO SPEAK AT FISHER FORUM SPOTLIGHT ON CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
Fisher College is pleased to announce that Margie Dillenburg, former Chief Operations Officer at Invisible Children, will speak at Fisher College’s Convocation Speaker Series on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 12:30pm in the Alumni Hall at Fisher College, 118 Beacon Street, Boston. This event will be open to the public and free of charge.
Ms. Dillenburg was asked to help start Invisible Children seven years ago. Her role was to direct a movement that would rally young people responding to a movie the founders of Invisible Children had made about a violent Ugandan warlord named Joseph Kony. However, Invisible Children’s long-term educational goals are much more ambitious than promoting “awareness” of the conflict in central Africa. Ms. Dillenburg’s lecture will motivate students to live a life of significance and stand up for the causes they believe in.
To complement Ms. Dillenburg’s lecture, the Fisher College community will be able to view the Invisible Children documentary on Tuesday, November 6th at 4:00pm in the Alumni Hall at Fisher College, 118 Beacon Street, Boston.
