Tony Williams Dance Center is excited to present Anthony Williams’ Urban Nutcracker!  Boston’s original holiday classic is back for its 12th season and packed with more magic for the whole family.  Fusing Tchaikovsky’s classic score with Duke Ellington’s jazz interpretation, Urban Nutcracker puts a modern spin on the 19th Century fairy tale and transports the audience to an enchanted world not unlike their own.  Urban Nutcracker delivers classic ballet, urban tap, hip hop, swing, flamenco, step, jazz, traditional Chinese, modern and a few other surprises that will have your family at the edge of their seats.

Constantly innovating to bring you the latest in dance and music while staying true to the spirit of the Nutcracker, this year’s Urban Nutcracker adds spectacular new dimensions including updated choreography, new costumes, surprise guest walk-on roles, new roles, styles and our exciting new youth company, Boston Urban Ballet!

This year Tony Williams Dance Center is especially proud to present the First Ever Urban Nutcracker Comes Out.  In honor of our LGBT friends and family, this special performance will feature local LGBT groups, performers and supporters.  This truly revolutionary performance is an extension of Urban Nutcracker’s dedication to Equality and every member of our diverse community.
