On Tuesday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m., join us at the Library for an evening event with the 1998 National Slam Poetry Individual Champion, Regie Gibson. He will perform an original piece, inspired by Transcending Boundaries, as well as lead an audience participatory activity.
Walk through the Mapparium before writing your own message of hope for Boston and the world, or come to see what our community has created for this occasion. This program is in partnership with GrubStreet, one of the nation's leading creative writing centers, and host the nation's first-ever Lit Week.
For many years, Regie Gibson has been creating and directing poetry workshops for all ages. He has performed, taught, and lectured at schools, universities, theaters and various other venues on two continents and in seven countries. In Boston, he teaches regular courses at Emerson College, Berklee College of Music, Grub Street, and offers poetry clinics and workshops at a variety of different schools, community centers, and festivals.
