Multicultural Film Night

Multicultural film night at the Strand, August 10, 2013.  Two films, a
documentary tribute and an island saga of heart and home, will be shown.  Proud to be Cape
Verdean, featuring music by the Mendes
Brothers, is directed  by Mike Costa, and
honors Cape Verdean resilience in the United
States, focused on California.  Costa paid his writing dues in television,
working on such shows as The Steve Harvey Show, In The House, and
Roseanne.   Chico & Rita, an animated
love story set in the world of jazz and big bands, moves between Havana, New York, Vegas, Paris, and Hollywood.
