Natyanjali, Swaranjali: The Language of Indian Music and Dance

Berklee faculty, visiting artists, and students representing different
countries will present the language of Indian classical dance and music.
Accompanied by Berklee’s Indian Music Ensemble, the performance will
focus on nritta (footwork/movements) and nritya (facial expression) to
narrate the beautiful language of the Indian classical dance tradition.
The ensemble will explore music from India, lush vocal arrangements, and
an eclectic blend of traditional (Carnatic and Hindustani) music, folk
songs, and contemporary Indian music as well as Western instrumentation.
Through original choreography and compositions, the performance strives
to showcase the rich diversity of Indian music and dance.
