Roundtable with Art Critic and Author, Catherine Millet

The French Cultural Center is delighted to invite you to meet the leading figure in contemporary art, Catherine Millet. Ms. Millet is a renowned author, art critic and founder of the distinguished publication Art Press.

For this very special evening, we will welcome Helen Molesworth, chief curator at the ICA, Mary Sherman, head of the TransCultural Exchange organization and organizer of the Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts, and Anthony Greaney, Boston gallery owner.

You are invited to join the discussion about the differences between American and French Contemporary art as well as the role of the art critic in both societies. The panel will create a dialogue around the current state of contemporary art in these countries, raising questions about the significance of their distinctions.

About Catherine Millet

Catherine Millet is a French writer, art critic, curator, and founder and editor of the magazine Art Press, which focuses on modern art and contemporary art. She is also the author of numerous books about contemporary art as well as the 2002 memoir, The Sexual Life of Catherine M.

About Mary Sherman

Mary Sherman is an artist, curator and the director of TransCultural Exchange, which she founded in Chicago in 1989. She also teaches at Boston University, Boston College and Northeastern University and, recently, served as the interim Associate Director of MIT's Program in Art, Culture and Technology. Additionally, for two decades, she worked as an art critic for such publications as The Chicago Sun-Times, The Boston Globe and ARTnews.
