Over 200 Attend Donohue Blood Drive in Back Bay

Blood drive put on by Mount Auburn Hospital and the American Red Cross.

Over 200 people attended the Officer Richard Donohue Blood Drive at Boston Marriott Copley Place in Back Bay last Thursday.

According to spokeswoman Jen Garkinfel, the blood drive was put on by Mount Auburn Hospital and the American Red Cross.

Garfinkel said the drive "was put on to help replenish the community blood supply" after Donahue was wounded in a Watertown confrontation with the Boston Marathon bombing suspects in the early morning hours of April 19.

Donohue "required more than 46 blood products, including red cells, platelets and plasma, to help save his life" at Mount Auburn, according to Garfinkel.

Above are several photos from the blood drive.
