Patitucci, Wooten, Bailey and Bailey at Berklee Performance Center Sept. 30

Berklee's Bass Department showcases four of the best bassists on the planet — John Patitucci, Victor Wooten, Victor Bailey, and Steve Bailey — on Monday, September 30, 8:15 pm, at the Berklee Performance Center, 136 Mass. Ave., Boston. Tickets are $8 in advance (discount applied at checkout), $12 day of show, general admission. Buy tickets here.  

Berklee artist-in-residence John Patitucci is a three-time Grammy winner and 14-time Grammy nominee who has performed with jazz giants Dizzy Gillespie, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, and others. 

Berklee Summer Bass Workshop director Victor Wooten is a founding member of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and a five-time Grammy winner who has been voted Bass Player of the Year by Bass Player more times than anyone else in the magazine's history.

Berklee faculty member Victor Bailey has been a member of Weather Report, Steps Ahead, and the Zawinul Syndicate, and has worked with Madonna, Lady Gaga, and others. 

Berklee Bass Department chair Steve Bailey played with Wooten in the cutting-edge group Bass Extremes for over 20 years, and has performed or recorded with Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger, Paquito D'Rivera, and Willie Nelson, to name just a few.
